About Rango
An Industry Leader in mining services
Rango Inc.
Established 2012
Equal in importance to Rango’s expertise is its business ethic. To customers Rango simply says:
“We take the worry off your plate. You hire Rango and we do the rest. If you need material moved, we do that better than anyone. If you need more – like engineering, mine planning, subcontractor management, and overall mine management -we have you covered. With Rango you are safe.”
From owners to executives to engineers, superintendents, foremen, and operators, Rango’s understanding and management of material movement is superb. The benefit that Rango has versus a self-performing mine is that it can quickly and efficiently put up a pile of material, then perform that same process at another location. Rango can spread the capital cost across more mines and gain efficiencies. Rango produces 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

History
200+ Years of Executive Leadership
Rodney George has been in the construction and mining industries for more than 30 years. As co-owner and day-to-day leader, he grew Rango by creating an industry niche of custom contract mining services. In other words, Rango moves earth of any kind for companies that prefer to avoid capital investment, maintain focus on their core competencies, and entrust material movement to a reliable partner, ensuring safe, efficient production at a fair price. He began at the ground level, mining material and moving it to the production facility.
Over time, he proved to mine owners that he could provide this service more efficiently than they could internally, eliminating the need for capital expenditures and reducing workforce challenges. For a “per ton of material moved” fee, Rango took on the work. This concept resonated with more mining companies over time, effectively creating a new sub-industry and accelerating Rango’s growth.
Tim is an entrepreneur with a strong track record of building and selling companies. His success enabled him to serve as the primary financier behind Rango. In addition to providing financial backing, Tim offers strategic oversight. He previously founded a scrap metal business, which he later sold, and went on to build, grow, and sell a company focused on medical testing facilities.
From its founding in 2012, the company experienced rapid growth, surpassing $100 million in revenue by 2019. Today, Rango employs more than 700 people, and its fleet of heavy equipment has expanded accordingly.
Rango was one of the first companies to pioneer custom contract mining in the frac sand industry in Texas, providing material transport for more than 70% of mines in the Permian Basin in West Texas. The company continues to operate at scale in Arizona and has completed or is actively managing projects in Colorado, Illinois, Nevada, Oklahoma, Utah, and Wyoming. Many Rango customers have a nationwide presence, and the company continues to be entrusted with additional projects across the country. Rango values the trust and collaboration it shares with its customers and remains committed to strengthening those relationships through consistent communication and performance.
Rango’s management team brings together the experience and capability required to lead this fast-growing enterprise. Collectively, the six senior leaders offer more than 200 years of business experience, with deep expertise spanning mining, construction, engineering, domestic and international business, finance and banking, and safety. Together, they drive the business forward while reinforcing Rango’s culture of removing operational burdens from its customers.
As passionate as Rango is about delivering the safest, most efficient, and worry-free mining services available, the company is equally committed to giving back. It recognizes a responsibility to support the communities in which it operates and has a strong track record of contributing to civic projects and events, as well as supporting and creating initiatives that serve individuals with disabilities.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Understanding Rango’s Work and Approach
How many operators does Rango employ?
Rango is built to take on large-scale mining and construction projects that demand both capacity and precision. Our core expertise lies in mass excavation, custom contract mining, and infrastructure development, where we move more than 100 million tons of material each year using advanced truck-and-shovel fleets. We work across multiple sectors, including frac sand, aggregates, base minerals, and precious metals, and have established ourselves as one of the leading contract miners in the United States.
Beyond mining, Rango delivers comprehensive construction capabilities, from building leach pads, drill pads, and utility trenches to constructing roads, pipelines, and other critical infrastructure. Our integrated approach allows us to manage entire project lifecycles—from site preparation and surveying to material handling, hauling, and final reclamation. With a premier fleet of modern equipment and more than 300 highly trained employees, we bring the scale, efficiency, and safety standards required for today’s most complex industrial and civil projects. Whether supporting mine development, public infrastructure, or large construction initiatives, Rango has the people, equipment, and experience to get the job done right.
How many locations does Rango operate in?
At Rango, safety is more than a policy—it is a core value that guides every aspect of our operations. All employees maintain MSHA Part 46 and Part 48 certifications, ensuring they are trained and qualified to work safely in both surface and underground environments. We reinforce this foundation with ongoing safety education, daily site briefings, and frequent audits that keep teams alert and accountable. Our equipment is maintained to the highest standards and outfitted with advanced safety features, reducing risks on the job. Just as important, we foster a culture where every employee is empowered to speak up and stop work if they identify a hazard. This proactive approach ensures our crews, clients, and partners can count on safe, well-managed job sites every time.
How many clients have utilized Rango's services?
Rango is deeply committed to environmental stewardship, understanding that responsible operations today protect the resources and communities of tomorrow. We integrate sustainable construction practices into every project, focusing on minimizing land disturbance, managing water responsibly, and reducing emissions through efficient fleet operations. In mining, we employ advanced techniques that maximize recovery while limiting environmental impact. Beyond production, we take an active role in reclamation, restoring mined land to beneficial use—whether that means returning it to natural habitat, preparing it for future development, or ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. From small-scale projects to complex Superfund initiatives, our dedication to sustainability reflects a long-term respect for the land and the people who depend on it.
How many pieces of equipment does Rango own?
Rango operates one of the premier equipment fleets in the industry, designed to handle the full scope of large-scale earthmoving and mining projects. Our lineup includes state-of-the-art Kenworth and Peterbilt tractors paired with a wide variety of trailers, giving us the versatility to transport equipment and materials of nearly any size. In the field, our heavy machinery ranges from high-capacity haul trucks and hydraulic shovels to loaders, dozers, and graders—each maintained to perform reliably under demanding conditions. We continuously invest in technology and equipment upgrades to increase efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance safety on site. Beyond supporting our own projects, our logistics team provides third-party heavy haul services nationwide, ensuring equipment is relocated securely and on schedule. This combination of fleet strength and logistical expertise allows Rango to take on projects of any scale with confidence and precision.
